I’ve come to the sad conclusion that the problem of spurious agri-inputs will never be solved, thanks to agri-input firms which inadvertently preserve the problem to which they are the solution.
The Shirky Principle states that organisations can become so focused on the problem they are solving, that they often inadvertently perpetuate the problem. It’s a strange dichotomy. Organisations end up loving the problem they’re going after, only to realise that they cannot exist without the problem they’re going after.
