Bullet-Point Report: Farm to Fork
Experimenting a new format: Short and (hopefully) Sweet Bullets to Ponder on Farm-to-Fork models and our Broken Food Systems which call for deeper attention beyond supply chain silver bullets.
Few days ago, when I was invited to take part in a panel discussion on “Farm to Fork: Market Linkage, Supply Chain & Logistics” alongside industry veterans like Prof.Ramesh Chand, Sagar Kaushik of UPL, I came to a rather unsavoury conclusion: I am terrible at offering packaged sound bytes. (You can tune in to the recording and you are most welcome to share your candid feedback).
Ever since the event ended, I started composing various sound bullets in my head in futile attempts to reconcile my dismal output and make sense of this wicked phenomenon called “Farm to Fork”. (“wicked”, not because it is immoral; “wicked” because it defies straight, generalisable solutions)
Since we are talking of food that we fantasise being served fresh from the farm, such thoughts should ideally be served raw. Feel free to cook them as you see fit. These are brain-to-pixel nibbles on “Farm to Fork”.
